Im looking into putting a zc into my 93 del sol. However i cant find any acurate specs on that engine the obd1 years. every site and one for sale the number vary i was wondering if anyone actually has actually has specs of a stock 2nd gen zc ? please post. Also has anyone ran a zc with modest boost around 5-8 psi? just curious to how the zc runs and compares when its boosted. Thanks...
dont use the obd1 dohc zc, parts are very hard to come by, and expensive when you do. if you want DOHC go LS atleast, if not stick w/ the sohc obd1+ motors. D15b vtec would be ideal. specs on the zc are 137 flywheel horsepower, and 106flywheel tq. thats rated though, never seen any dyno sheets of the obd1 dohc zc, but i would say they have no advantage over the sohc zc vtec, sohc zc non vtec, d16z6, or D15b vtec.
DOHC ZC is largely known to respond awesome to boost in the EF community. I used to have an EF and the dohc zc can put out great numbers if done and tuned correctly. Just make sure you don't break anything, otherwise good luck finding the parts

Yah i know what you mean, about the parts/ engines being rare. I was looking to buy an entire engine swap so ill have everything ill need to drop it in since it is suposed to be a direct bolt up. But no im a little concerned since everyone is saying the parts are so hard to come by. i might have to rethink my plan.
seriously, if you want it because it LOOKS like a B series, you are doing it for the wrong reason, i too wanted one because its differant, not everyone does the swap. but for the money, and the pain it is to get parts its really not worth it. just save a little more and go LS, or get a good D like i listed above.
