Default Pic request: HID kits in STOCK DC projectors.

Explains itself. I want to see pics of HID kits in the stock DC projectors. Pics of the Cut-offs are the most important.

i got a dc2 and i will be the first to tell u that hid lights in non hid projectors= sucky light output/poor cutoff line. there is nothing like oem hids...our cars werent meant to have hids unless it was on the jdm type R headlights. the best bet is to have a retrofit done using either tsx or s2k lights, which will give the best light output along with a serious cut off line...

Cool that'd be sweet! I have an 01 GSR and the headlights have an okay cut-off, but I know there is some glare and that HID's would be alot brighter. Just trying to get an idea of what I could expect.

i wish i took pics of my hid d2s bulbs inside the stock halogen projectors but it wasnt worth it, the out put was so crappy and i couldnt even see 5 feet ahead of me thats how bad it was, i took the d2s bulbs out and retrofitted e46 m3 projectors in there. not worth it at all looks cool when youre looking at the car but i couldnt see ****.

I'm not a DC2 owner (i have an EJ8)and I chance being flamed for this, but how would using those ebay halo headlights and a HID conversion kit go? I'm aware the halos are stupid(don't plan to plug in the halos) but I'm thinking it has a projector so why not just use $100 on those and $250~ on the conversion kit instead of $100 on the HID projectors, $250~ for a proper conversion for whatever projector i retrofitted on and $250 to have someone else retrofit it for me. would the output be decent?

it wouldnt be a nice cutoff or have great output, halogen projectors are for halogen only.

the ONLY way to have a good output and be able to see past 5 ft in front of u like giovannie said is to do a retro...its a good investment if u plan to see at night. u dont necessarily have to get other lights...just use ur lights, send them out to someone who does it ( or do it urself) for 250 u can get the whole thing done. but u gotta buy projectors...tsx's go for about 200 so itll only be 450 to do a nice oem retrofit and have a perfect cutoff and probably the best light output that u can have...its a good thing to have...

don't you have to get the ballast and everything to convert your output to whatever bulbs fit those projectors? I know they take a while to do a retrofit and I can't exactly drive around for a month or 2 without my headlight seems like I'll be running $700~ to have it done professionally.

nice cutoff.

I have been playing with the focus on my DC headlights...I got my Halogen bulbs to give me a pretty good cutoff. You can tell they arent HID's but the cutoff is there...

IMO I think it can be done. I just don't have the HID's but I plan to get them soon and I will try to find a way to utilize my factory projectors and make it look good.

wow, that looks pretty good. what exactly is the difference between a halogen projector and a HID projector? I'm confused.

Day and night...... halogen projectors do not allow the light to escape and project the way a HID projector does.
