Default Valve Cover Torque Specs

i went to put my valve cover back on and i looked at me HELMS and its said 86 in-lbs. but my torque wrench on has ft-lbs. how do you do the conversion? can someone point me in the right direction? ohh yeah its a single can Y8 valve cover!

its not really necessary to torque those nuts. just snug them up a bit. don't go he-man on them and you'll be fine.

Divide the specified torque rating by 12".

Set up your conversion factor like this (and the inches will cancel out and leave you with feet):
86 in*lb x (1 ft / 12 inch) = 7.167777lb*ft
