TEST PIPE TO REPLACE CAT
got a 96 integra and a bad cat. i just thought id take this opportunitu to just take out the cat and use a test pipe. a buddy of mine suggested i use the test pipe, plug up the bung for the o2 sensor and just tie my o2 sensor to somewhere onto the chassis. my question is, since my check engine light is on, will it now turn off since my o2 sensor isn't reading anything? and there would be no point of replacing the o2 sensor since i'm not gonna be using it anymore correct?
Here is a trick you can use to fool the o2 sensor using spark plug defoulers...
-buy two 18mm spark plug defoulers
-drill one of the ends with the small hole to 1/2 inch
-screw that one into the bung you get put on the test pipe
-screw the unmodified defouler into the modified one
-screw the o2 sensor into the second defouler
This should clear the cel
