How is it done. Will a 89 STD tranny bolt directly in and all attach up to a 89 CRX DX????

What do I need I got old tranny out etc.

it should bolt right up. why you only want a 4 speed tho?

 

a 4 speed with a turbo would mean exellent gearing for highway runs, going through long gearing under constant boost.

 

the tranny will bolt up to the engine but the axles for the STD tranny are smaller (and weaker) than the DX axles. You would have to swap your knuckles to STD or HF ones so that the axles would fit. Probably not worth it.

the axles will work fine std axles work in the si trans its the same trans case.... and the outer of teh axle is the only difference so it will work and ur right about the gearing only bad part is ull be goin for 5th and not hit it

 

ok first of all it is an L3 tranny and its a 5spd. It was picked up for my friend CRXBoy who blew his tranny. We are replacing it with this one(89 CRX STD tranny)

They look exactly the same will I need anything else.,
