Ground Control coilovers
im thinking of switching from my H&R sport springs to GC coilovers. what is the difference in spring rates, and how mych worse/better will the ride quality be? thanks
If you are ordering the GC's new, you can pick custom rates, so depending on the rates you choose your ride quality will be harsh/livable. Contact Ground-Control directly and ask them what rates they recommend for your type of driving.
i did not know this, thanks alot! you wouldnt happen to know what are the spring rates for HR sports? and how long could i keep ~1.75 drop on stock shock before i can afford some koni yellows? (53k miles right now- 2k w/ H&Rs)
I have h&r sports on my integra, I've had them for over a year on the stock shocks. Still ride like a dream, and handle great.
It all really depends on how competitive you plan to be. Ground Controls for Koni's will set you back about $340, and Koni Yellows another $500. For a few hundred more you can get a full coilover setup which is very nice, IF USED (i.e. Road/Track Racing). I'm not sure about the rates on your current springs, but I would suspect around 200-300 or so at most. If I were you I would wait until you have both your shocks and springs you want ultimately to do the install, but if you don't want to wait you should be fine for a while on the OEM shocks. You'll know when your OEM shocks are bad because you'll be bouncing around like a madman. The best prices I've seen so far are at http://www.diabloautosports.com Good Luck!

I just ordered GC coilovers for my ride last week, and the people were very helpful. I got custom spring rates 380f 400r. They said it should give me a hint of oversteer.

Directly from GC it will be around $360 or so shipped for the GC specifically made for Koni's. Like I said earlier, get them through Diabloautosports. I got mine shipped for $345.
Can you explain why it's better? Diablo gets their orders right from GC (which custom rates) for less. Shipping is about 3 days. Please explain your reasoning again...
I usually like to get rid off the middle man if I can. I went to Diablo's site, but for the $12 difference I figured it would be better to contact GC directy. I don't have anything against Diablo. I have heard many good things about them, and they have a great web site. It was just my preference to contact GC directly.
what the heezy fo sheeze... you need koni adapters if you plan on gettin GC coilovers with them??? u mean sportlines or coilovers for that 357 shipped?

Ground Control makes a specific application to be used with Honda Koni shocks, and another application for Honda Bilstein shocks. Basically the spring perch on the Koni is not used, and the adapter allows the sleeve to sit directly on the ring that the spring perch would have otherwise sat on. Good clean design.

The LE's have specific softer spring rates for Civics and Integras. Basically the LE's mean nothing if you choose custom rates.
