Default 99-00 si lip install....

I got a lip for my 00 coupe. Whenever I put it up to my bumper it seems kinda short. Once you start screwing it in and actually installing it does it stretch out a little bit? Does anyone have any suggestions the easiest way to install this lip onto the bumper?

Mike

it seems short because its an aftermarket peice of ****, when I put my brothers on we had to heat gun the ends so the plastic would stretch and mold around the ends of the bumper so we could put some screws in it

there is your problem. my advice to you is to shop around and search the archives for lip reviews so you can find a good company. you may end up paying more money for a lip bit it will fit right. better luck next time!

Ok the damage has already been done. You don't have a valid point. I relized what I SHOULD HAVE done but what I did has been done already. I am looking to see if anyone else has had this problem; beacuse I know they have, and what they did to fix it and make this lip fix. I don't need any more smartass remarks ok?

i wasn't making a smart *** comment. i'm giving you my advice. you should start over is what i was saying. you're going to spend to much time trying to get the lip to fit when you can buy one that will. if you do get it to fit, you may have warped it so it wont look the way it should. dont be accusing me off trying to be a smart *** when i am genuinely trying to help you out. ok?

I did read that. But how the hell do you melt the plastic and just pull it out or something? That seems impossible. The lip is really hard plastic. Grrr...

heat the edges of the lip and push it over the ends of the bumper, I can't explain it anymore unless I do it for you
