does anyone know whether honda would replace them under warranty given ive got a Toda Flywheel and Exedy clutch on?

 

Is everything okay now? Make sure your car is ready when autox starts in 1-2 months.

 

Actually there is still a small harmonic vibration, but I've been to lazy to take it back to get it checked. I live 45 min. away from the nearest dealer. My car is just as ready as I am for AutoX.( ) I am so excited for it happen, and hopefully I'll have my set up ready by then.

LOL, don't worry that is still the plan. Just can't do it while I am going to school and working two jobs.

 

Yup... and 3rd gear, too. (better safe than sorry). ..under warranty (along with a new clutch plate & bearing).

Drive hard = break parts.

The Acura Dealership i goto is a bitch about that, my car is totally stock except for an intake so the warranty should cover that stuff. How do u diagnose a broken syncro?

 

I was like the rest just wondering the same thing, but where did you guys get yours done? I'm in a 92 and I would suspect my warranty is long gone How much would Acura charge to do lets say 2nd and 3rd? That would include gears/synchros/fluid. thanks.

 

they quoted me 750 to change the synchros!!! good thing for warranty.

 

Do synchros wear out on all cars like this or just Hondas?

 

It all depends on the way the synchros were made. My Dad has an MG (forget the year, but its pretty old) and the tranny had 250k miles on it before it lost the 1-2 synchro. I've also seen a mustang loose his 2-3 syncro in less then 10k miles. Its all realy depends on how they were made, if there were any small imperfections that would cause the synchros to wear faster and what not.

Craig - Who has seen synchros on hondas last way over 200k miles.

 

Mine were replaced at 30K under warranty. I was under the assumption that this was just a problem on the SI's?? anyway, now shifts are smoother than ever.

 

Well I hope mine never go out as the FD install completely killed my warrenty on any tranny problems Oh well, that just give me more of a chance of putting in the ATS gear set when I have to open her up again
