whats the differance 96 y8 or oo y8

what is the differnce between the 96-98 d16y8 and the 99-00 d16y8? what makes the car obd2a and obd2b i need to know searched but couldnt find shiza.

The obd has nothing to do with the manifold. The only difference between the 2 are the air injector hole things that are on 99-00 manifolds. There is a difference between Auto and Manual IM which involves the IAC.

so are they interchangable? can i take a d16y8 motor from any year 96-00 take off the wiring harness and put my 00 ex harness on it then put it in my car? will it work or am i ganna have some crazy problems?

you'll have to do some wire splicing for the IACV, i think everything else should bolt up

The physical engine is exactly the same.
