Sketchy brakes/rotors, HELP ME!
So my brakes started squeeking and I decided to replace them. Bought 2 front replacement pads and installed them. Now when I drive my car shakes horribly under acceleration. Before I installed them it would never do anything like that. Why would new brake pads expletive **** up so bad, or could it be something else like the wheel bearing or something? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

the rotors seemed fine when I checked them before installing the pads...do you think it could be a wheel bearing?

well horrible shuddering like that sounds like a warped rotor....mine shakes a bit and stuff on deceleration and normal braking but just slightly but i think my pads are bad, anyways are you sure its the brakes that are making it shake and **** when you accelerate??
maybe your calipers are bad and acting wierd, have you tried bleeding your brake lines?

True, I did bleed the lines and everything. It's wierd because it is only when I give it gas that it does it. It could be the rotors though....I am takin it in tomorrow to have it checked out. I hate having other people do my **** for me, but I just moved out on my own and have no garage or tools, or even friends to help work on my car with me. We'll see what happens.

When just changing pads, you don't need to bleed the system. Wheel bearing is highly unlikely (because it was fine before), unless you could have tightened it or loosened it in doing the brakes.
Check lugnuts w/ 1/2in torque wrench, no/minimal extentions, shoot for 100ft/lbs.
Also check slide pin bolts, and how the pads are seated on rotor.
If you've felt much pulsing in the brakes when stopping, they are probably warped, which happens more to thinner rotors. But this would have been pre-exisiting to some degree. You can measure the minimum thickness with a $15 micrometer from harbor frieght.
Lastly, don't forget to seat the pad surface to the rotor for good contact. (brake hard/gas hard 3 seconds, left off to vent 3 seconds, repeat a time or two.)
or just get it to the shop.

I think your slider bolts need relubrication and you need to get your rotors machined or buy new ones. Make sure your rear brakes are handling some of the load too buy properly adjusting them. You also have to keep adjusting the rears by pulling the e-brake up one click and then pushing the brake pedal hard while going in reverse. Goodluck.

I'm going in at 1 o'clock today, I guess we'll see what happens....

Re: Sketchy brakes/rotors, HELP ME! (JDM_d15b_eg8)
Well, I took it in to a local goodyear shop. It turns out that the CV shaft was shot. The boot got a hole in it and lost all the grease packing. I'm sure the heat from the friction and not enought lubricant warped the knuckles and just ruined the shaft. Thats why it was clunking around....It cost about 200 dollars to have them fix it. I would have done it myself, but I currently have no tools or place to work on it....At least I got the problem solved
