Body kits are almost always gay, and if the stars line up and somebody makes one that actually looks good than it becomes played within like a week. So i decided to modify my stock bumper. Got another 3 1/2 inches for my FMIC. It'll all be closed off and when its done it'll just be my FMIC visiable-nothing else. We plastic welded another bottom of a bumper on as you can see in these pics, and are in the process of putting a DA front lip on. When all is finished it should look stock enough for most not to notice when they look at it from across the parking lot.

You're saying that kits are played but EVERY stock DA has that bumper on it so how is that not played..?? Not flaming, just a question.

 

No, still needs a lot of work done. But there has been a lot done since those pics. The bumper angles up with the endtanks and the outlets are hidden with an angled piece that actually helps divert air into the FMIC. And the DA lip is on. Its about 4 inches lower than stock all said and done.

Awful? The panel bond isn't even sanded in those pics... Lots of hating on all this originality with this and the engine bay. Hate all you want but you'll have changed opinions when everything is done.

theres no need to get like that over criticism. if you cant take the hate, dont post.

i cannot wait to see how your engine bay turns out... but honestly, posting 'in-process' pics isnt gonna get a ton of good replies.

not everyone here is putting the bumper together in their head like you are. you're better off posting finalized pics.

i'll be waiting for final pics of the bumper and engine bay.

 

Yea, that was a bit childish and what not, just a slip of quite a few fingers No more will I post up in progress pics. I've always been a fan of them to see how things are going and how they turn out but some people just don't have an eye. But I guess thats why they pay to bring their cars to shops so the owners can tell them what looks cool.

bud, people have been modifying there factory bumpers for intercoolers for a while now...

 

Maybe its just me, and i say this with no sarcasim, but I've never seen anybody plastic weld the bottom of another bumper onto a bumper. I've modified the bumper to every boosted car i've had but this is a bit more than i've ever done before. Like I said, no more sharing with the world.

Its an unfinished product. Its hard to believe that people would actually think I would put it on my car like that. I guess a lot of people do do stupid things nowadays though.

Close to it. That was a stock bumper, no lip or anything. This is including the lip and the bumper extension. My car isn't slammed or anything, just low enough to handle. It isn't low enough to make it a hassle to drive.

I don't know what the engine bay looks like but from the sound of it it can't be good lol.
