I just put a kit on a stock GSR motor how much extra oil is need once a trubo kit is installed with a Garrett T3/TO4E turbocharger

 

Imagine how much oil it takes to fill the oil feed, thats how much more you need. Or you could be smart and just start the car and then check the oil.

 

should the oil level be checked with the car running?

 

Nope. with the engine off ofcourse.

 

and cold

No extra oil is needed. You'd run just fine with 3 quarts or 5 quarts.....4.something is good enough

I don't know about 5 quarts. That's way too much.

 

when it running it level but when i shut it of it like a half quart above the full mark

 

you're 1/2 qt. over

That's why you measure it cold

Yeah it's too much, but nothing has happened when I added too much oil once.
