Stupid ? How much extra oil is needed?
Imagine how much oil it takes to fill the oil feed, thats how much more you need. Or you could be smart and just start the car and then check the oil.

Yeah it's too much, but nothing has happened when I added too much oil once.
That's why you measure it cold
