I did something really stupid...
Yesterday, I was cleaning up my header (still bolted on the head) and when I was scrubbing it down, I took the dipstick out and put it aside.
After I was all done cleaning, I washed down the header with a bottle of water, but like the idiot I am, forgot to put the dipstick back in before water got everywhere.
I immediately realized how dumb I was and changed the oil right away. I had not turned on the car at all so I'm hoping it didn't circulate to anywhere else.
Should I be ok?

drain your oil, drop your oil pan and try to let it air out for a day or 2 is all i can think of. water inside there is a not a very good thing. i would think the water would go down to the oil pan but who knows. better safe then new motor right?

Nah, I wasn't paying attention (obviously)
But when I drained the oil, it did look a little "watery"

I'd drop the pan and check hopefully you see some water in your oil (at least you know it ran down) but its hard to say since you don't know how much u dumped in
drop that pan and i'd even put some el cheapo oil in for a few miles then reflush the oil out again just to make sure...

well the oil and water should not have mixed if anything the water sat on top of the oil due to oil being thicker than water....the worst that could happen is you will have residual water inside the oil pan kinda like when you make spaghetti and use oil in the water to keep th noodles from sticking(i'm hungry now) the inside of you pan needs to be degreased or the water will always be there ............drop the pan get like a good degreaser (Simple Green
) and you should be fine.

Nope, didn't crank it at all. Didn't even start the car at all that day. So I'm hoping its ok too.

First.....the water is heavier than oil, so if you didnt start, the water will drain into your oil pan. Second..the amount of water used is not substancial...
So, just change the oil, remove the pan, and as RECOMMENDED, use a degreaser. Everything should be ok from there.
These guys poured at least 20 oz of h2o in an already hot crankcase and it actually ran for a while!

remove it from the motor and throw it on the floor
ur gonna have to remove the downpipe and loosen all the oilpan nuts and what not adn remove the pan. then clean off the mating surfaces and get a new gaskset. if it doesnt use a gasket from teh factory, then u have to clean off the hondabond and applya new bead of it when installing it.

oh i forgot to add, i really dont think u need to waste your time dropping the pan, just drain the oil, and refill it, and be done with it.
if ur really still paranoid, after you've run the engine some with the new oil, drain it one more time, and you should be fine.

LOL.
Yeah, just change the oil and run it, then change the oil again.
If it's only a little bit of water it'll evaporate out while your engine is running.
Don't you just hate doing something liek that...then having to post about it.

Yes. All I was thinking was "god dammit, prepare to be flamed". Hence why I didn't post this in GDD

Well I lied this actually happened on Saturday. I changed the oil, drove it into my garage (10 feet), it sat there all day yesterday (I went to the beach), then I drove it to work this morning. I didn't hear or feel anything significantly different. I'll probably change the oil again when I get home though.

Meh. If you already changed it once it's not going to be a big deal. Change it again for your peace of mind if anything else, and call it a lesson learned
