ECHC street cars?
ahh yes i forgot that you need to install racing seats. i think a street legal exhaust with a high flow cat wouldnt put you at that much a disadvantage. im 6' tall. i haev a hard time getting out of my car as it is.
i dunno, i was just wondering.

Would you want all those metal bars running past your soft unhelmeted head in a hypothetical side-impact on the street? I'm thinking that could suck very very badly.

My RX-7 was street driven for the first year I raced. A bit loud and uncomfortable, but it worked unti I could afford a tow rig. I never drove it farther than Summit Point (about an hour from home) since I would still be within the AAA service range (which I used a few times - I had a few guys I race convinced I used AAA to transport my car back and forth). There are currently a few HC racers who frive to the track part of the time (Todd, Matt, Chad?).

Isn't Yack's monster red hatch (that placed first or second in yesterday's ECHC race @ CMP) street legal?
first both days
Will
-who is tired as hell
Yack's Hatchcrap was driven to the track. It has a full interior with a working "system", IIRC. He finished first both days. He was turning 1:53.XXXs (by the way, that's really f-ing fast at CMP)

It is probably not legal, smart, or safe to race your daily driver, but I have to give a big
to Jack. He was on pole both days, won the race** both days, and won his class both days. All in his daily driver with full interior which he drove to the track!!!!
Amazing.
**Race 1 was actually won by the World Challenge Spec Civic Si, who took the lead from Jack on lap 10 or 12, but he was disqualified for having an illegal car after the race.

Robert - Who's car is also street legal, and has always been driven to the track... and AAA helped me out once too.
congrats to yack!!!!
is it possible to keep a car street legal and still participate in ECHC?
Yack's car has a Cat, passes emissions, has a muffler, and would pass inspection, along with a CD player and Cupholders
Pretty damn good for a polesitter!
