Default rear brake question

I have a 90 gs, and my driver side e-brake won't engage (the wheel moves freely). I want the problem fixed, so I can have a working e-brake. My question is, what should I be looking to fix the problem. Could it be just the caliper? Because my friend just upgraded his, and he said that he'll sell me his old ones.

thanks a lot.

You need a new e-brake cable. They're like 100$ from Honda.
