Paking Brake light randomly turning on
My parking brake light int he cluster likes to turn on when im driving, It does it sometimes under hard acceleration, or when the car gets jostled around.
Ive checked the brake fluid and im not low, altho the positive wire from the level sensor has a cut in the insulation.
Ive checked the ebrake it self, and its adjusted to the point where if i pull it the ebrake light doesnt come on until the level is about 1/3 of the way up.
However the ebrake it weak and will not hold the car by itself on a hill. Could there be a problem withmy rear drums??
the car is a 91 crx dx by the way.
Thanks

On a USDM car that light is only triggered by brake fluid being too low or the brake handle being pulled up.
Since you are in Canada, your car might be different but I can't imagine that it is.

i have a usdm car, i imported it from the states.
Thats what i was also thinking, i am going to try and unplug the brake fluid resevoir and see if it still happens while im driving around.
Thank you for confirming about when the light turns on.

I had this same problem....
First I checked fluid and made sure it was full and that was not it, then I check the parking brake handle and that was not it. Next I looked at the cap and there was one single wire still connected. Replaced the cap and light went off.
So check all that stuff
Fluid Level
Wires
E-brake handle.

If the fluid does not fix it, take the e-brake cover off and inspect the plug/clip. My light was coming on due to a metal pen cap falling off an jamming itself in the clip.
