big hopes?
i have a b18b with a password cf intake and am looking to get crower stage 2 cams, ferrea valves, crower springs and retainers, profab header high flow cat and an rsr exmag exhaust...is there anyway that i will be able to make around 175whp with an intake manifold and a tune or am i crazy....otherwise i might save for a b18c1 swap.... also wat do u think of itb's on this setup
youre dreaming...but....toss some b16 pistons onto those rods...and you may not be so crazy...you might not hit 170..but 160ish + youd be good for
the major drawback of the ls head is the intake ports and intake valve size...get some decent porting to help those areas out...you can reach your goal

wtf? might as well?? like its a side add on...you have any clue as to how much a Polish job costs?? Like i said before...just get the intake ports ported and the intake valve side ported (you could get away with just the intake ports being ported)....a polish would be way more money on top

why must you always argue with me? im not trying to hold a grudge with you
you have to know the right people that do good work for decent prices, try to contact ExplicitSpeed360, he does good porting and polishing work at a very good price

because some of the things you say are so off the wall it hurts the eyes....pnp jobs can get into the range of 1200 depending on the job...so to tell him...YEa might as well DUDE since its off...is like saying might as well drop an extra 300-500 bucks (depending on the extent of the port and polish)...and as far as knowing the right people?? i have very good connections (LOCAL ONES) and pnp jobs are still not pennies

im not off the wall, you just cant be wrong, anyone who challenges your "knowledge" you precieve as a threat and you proceed bash them with insults, you dont have to go around bashing people
if you dont like what i have to say then dont respond, all people are allowed to have a difference in opinion, and are allowed to spread their knowledge to benefit others, I provided a reputable head worker that does good work at a reasonable price, so please dont continue to believe that there is and absolute right and wrong answer to every question, there will be opinions that differ from your own and please learn to accept those opinions and not state yours and claim that it is the only right choice

pnp jobs are expensive...thats not an opinion...so im not understanding where youre coming from...and i didnt insult you..i asked you if you knew how much a port and polish job costs. Because i would assume if you did, you wouldnt have suggested it like a side add on...
i respect opinions...but like i said above, its not an opinion that a pnp job is expensive, and can get into the range of 1200-1800

i know that they can be expensive, i would not get an all out full P&P for this motor, I merely hinted at a minor port and polsih tht would not me very expensive and that will slightly increase the flow of the head and aid him to his 170whp goal

dont buy a B18C1 . If you dont make the power you want go with a vtec head and save yourself some cash instead of purchasing an entirely new motor . But i think your power goals are very obtainable , bump up that compression though .

hmm do you know why and where polishing occurs??? it doesnt increase flow of the air going into the chamber...you polish where you WANT turbulence, a polished, mirror-like, smooth surface actually causes the flow's boundary layer (the layer closest to the port wall surface) to stick to the surface rather than roll over it and that smooth surface ironically induces turbulence..so what does this mean?? Polishing occurs on the heads chamber side, aka air thats already made it into the chamber. This means it doesnt lend a hand like you think it does to increasing air flow in the head, the ports on the intake side and port bowl area above the throat cut and around the valve guides are what induce more air flow
in a nutshell...like i said before...polishing isnt necessary
