Isn't getting a carbon fiber hood a bad idea for a front wheel drive car?
What are the benefits and bads for it? Because wouldn't the lighter weight in the front make the car do a small burn out?
LMAOOO ur funny dude. the stock hood and a carbon fiber hood are like 4 lbs different (b/c the stock hood is very small) so no it won't make u spin ur wheels more, u can do that regardless. A carbon fiber hood dissipates heat better then the metal one. It is a weight reduction when u wanna autocross the car and u need ur car 2 be light. It is also a cosmetic thing a lotta ppl get cf hoods cuz they look good, even tho some of em don't know what it does.

Not good to have if you get into a serious crash either.</TD></TR></TABLE>
actually that is not true. unlike a metal hood taht will bend when in a colision, carbon fiber will SHATTER! u'll just ahve a lotta cf everywhere. IF ur windshield shattered AND ur cf hood shattered, then u will get shards in ur face n **** and it sucks.

It is good that a metal hood bends. It crumples and absorbs energy from the collision. This isnt a bad thing.
It is not a guarantee that carbon fiber will shatter. That depends on the velocity of the collision and the angle that the hood hits the object.

Your windshield will not shatter. It has a sheet of plastic sandwiched between two pieces of glass to prevent it from shattering.

well the glass does shatter but the pieces don't fall off due to the sheet of film between the 2 layers. Ive messed w/ front windshield many times in my h.s auto shop class.
