Default After much debating I think I have made my decision.

In this thread there was a lot of talking about what to do...

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1689725

I think I wanna keep it in automatic. It would be kind of unique and with a really nice stall converter like the one I wanna get, the car would launch at high RPMs and such so it would be super nice. I have seen 9 seconds supras that are still just automatics with stall converters.

Although I really like this idea if anyone has any REAL reasons why I shouldn't then speak up.

And what motors will bolt to my stock tranny?

gear ratios are really poor, only has 4 gears, does not make a wide enough power band for an auto to be effiecient, it is heaver, you can not rev match, it is boring, etc. etc. etc.

9 sec supras are much different than NA 1.5 liter honders. They use automatics so they can stay in boost with large turbos and don't have to spend so much time shifting.

You can not compare a Automatic Supra to an Auto Civic. (I've been down that road)
I have owned an automatic turboed 00 Civic...quick(er), but far from fast.

The only co. back then that I found making upgraded torque converters was Level 10. I don't even know if they are still in business.

I'm sure that if you are looking for any type of noticeable performance, you will be greatly dissapointed with the automatic tranny. You will never reach the top, or needed area, in the RPM band to even make it worth while adding parts or doing any motor work. You can do the little I/H/E/yadda yadda and still get walked by a bone stock 5 speed.
There are so many reasons not to keep the auto with the D...unless you just plan on driving from point a to point be and your not in a hurry.

Save your $1k. Research on how to do a manual to 5 spd. conv. for free...learn it backwords and forwards, then hit the junkyards.

Ok, maybe you guys are right, it is true that it would probably be different story in a V8.

Just not looking forward to having my car out for a while and such.

Will an Si tranny bolt to my D15B2? That way I could at least bolt that up and drive it like that and then save up for the motor. That way I am not doing it all at once.
