There are only a few things that will fit in the 88 accord from the 87 civic.

One is the shortshifter, the other is the short shifter bushing, other than that, you are out of luck.

Why do you want to swap to a smaller motor?

Just turbocharge it..

The 3rd gen Accord had a 1.8 engine? I thought it had had A20A3?

hehe, Wont be beat, I see you live by the swap guide. I think the A20A3 was the FI engine of that year. I would guess the 1.8 in question is a carbed engine and not listed in the swap guide. In 87 unless I'm mistaken or 1badcivic's civic is an SI it should carbed also. As far as that engine fitting I have no idea still. But with excess money/time and a lack of common sense almost anything will fit.
