Default what would be a decent header to bolt on to itr catback?

my friend had his stock 2000 itr catback lyin around his garage so he sold it to me for cheap.

i have a 2001 gsr and was wondering if i bought a itr DC 4-1 header would it directly bolt on to the itr catback? the 00-01 gsr's header are the same length as the 94-99 rs/ls/gs and 97-01 itr's. i was plannin to get the itr DC 4-1 because i really cant afford anything else. i would get the jdm itr header, but i'm worried about the police, smog, etc.

basically, is all i need a itr header (http://store.racinglab.com/97acintypdcs1.html), and the itr catback, and i'm good to go?

For a bolt-on, CARB-legal header, I would probably go with a Comptech.

Also, if your on a budget, the JDM ITR unit is 'okay'.

And would require a larger cat.

You could just bolt up the ITR exhaust and keep saving for a better header. If you are wanting a header now how much can you spend?

this is what i wanted to do, but i didn't know if it was possible. right now i have just under $300 to spend on a header. the only thing i can get is the DC 4-1. but if i could just bolt on the itr catback to my gsr header, then i would do that until i save up enough money for a comptech. the only thing is, it will take me AWHILE, like 3 -4 months, for a comptech header.

i dont want the JDM itr, because it wont past visual, and it it will have trouble with smog.

Wouldn't the JDM ITR header look relatively OEM when installed witht the heatshield?

heatshield would hide it, but i still wouldn't want to risk it. plus, heatshields are more $$$.

Which is best bolt on header if money is not the object? I don't prefer JDM OEM one since too much altering.

so i can put on my 00 itr catback on my 01 gsr with my stock gsr header. then i can try and save money for a better header, like comptech. does this sound like a plan?

will there be any difficulties, leaks, etc., if i were to do this?

Yes, that sounds like a decent plan, and you shouldn't have any difficulties.

It depends what you want your powerband to look like and what current mods you have
