did i go to big???
this is my set up right now i have a 01 type r cai, headers, testpipe, exhaust, clutch and flywheel, and supertech valve springs and retainers and skunk2 stage 2 pro series cams, and a buddy club head gasket( 2 layer) and rc310 injectors untunned so my question is did i go to big of a cam for my car? do i need higher compression for this cam? i know im suffering on the low end but i though i would have top end. the reason i noticed this is because i raced my friends type r jdm motor and tranny wit cai, headers, exhaust hes tuned and dynoed 187 to the wheels and he beat me on top end and i was like wtf so i dont know if i should sell these cams and get something less aggressive please let me know trying to figure out whats happening here
your car is running rich all across the rpm, like it was said before, dont drive it untuned, if u cant afford tuning just yet get at least the stock injectors back on.
yes i understand tunning is a big major role but i mean his car walked me on third gear nasty by like two cars if so, and i was thinking this cause i dont think i have the compression to back up these cams
From what I understand, those cams work better with higher compression. You may have been better off sticking with the OEM cams. Still got them?
Regardless of everyone suggesting to get your car tuned, if your bleeding off compression because of over lap, then it's a moot point to even have them.
You may consider dialing out the overlap on a dyno as well as getting the A/F tuned.

I think you should just give that car to me before you mess it up more then you likley all ready have running the modified engine without spending some time at least street tuning. IM me your address and I will send a flat deck to pick it up.

ok fine let me tell you my car is street tuned with a wideband see im in the middle of switching to the pro series stage 1 cams or staying with the cams i have right now (pro seriers stage 2) but i dont think i have enough compression for these cams i have 11:1 right now and thats the reason i havent gone on the dyno to fully tune it. so my question is do i have enough compression for these cams or should i go to the stage 1 pro series

I'm telling you...again, your cams are too big. I feel the Pro 1's would be best, or the ITR cams that you still have. Someone else mentioned that you can swap the pistons...depends how much work you want to do. May be easier to call it a day and simply swap the cams.

yea im going to just swap out the cams im going to go pro series stage 1 and also i heard that its bad to put the stock cams with aftermarket valve train cause the springs are too tight for the cams is this true?
yes, for your set up the cams are a bit too big. i use P1's in my set up which is a mild gsr build. p/m itr down low, fully iced out head up top. P1's are plenty. your car will still make great power after its tuned, but for what you have s2s2/blox b's are probably better. for P2's you need headwork, better header, re-work your im, more compression and more rpm to make it work to its fullest potential. more displacement will be a huge benefit also
