Ok I have a b16 crx, and on normal driving my shifter gets really hot, just wondering if its normal ? ? And I also cant rev past 5k from a stop in first gear

 

Maybe your shift linkage is touching the exhaust, making it transfer heat.

Are you sure the car is warmed up before you try to launch?

Is it bad if the linkage is touching the exhaust ? ? But no my car was warm, it was the first time it happened. I was trying to warm up my tires but I couldnt shoot it past 5k, it would just bounce like I was redlining it at 5. Thanks for replies.

I dont know how to tell, I dont have the little 2 insert adapter to troubleshoot, and my ecu doesnt have a blinker.
