he wasnt saying that....he said he might lose like 2hp,/ if he wantted a louder sound block the resanator....i have a gutted air box with block resonator....when u floor it its not greatly differnt in sound...ur best bet is buying a spoon snorkel or aem or injen. as far as the comptech, it doesnt increase by great ammount of power/sound... thats juz my opinion.... as soon as i get the money to spend im buying the spoon snorkel.....

Heat soak will kill you. Just gut it out like a majority of people do.

Everyone talks about gutting the Air box. From looking at the design of the OEM airbox, It seems that gutting it would not be good. The air is funneled directly to the filter....If you gut it it seems the air would lose volocity? Maye I am wrong.

trust me..ive looked at it..and like the guy above me said. gutting looks like it would defeat the purpose of its design. i dunno..i could be wrong..but yes. ive looked at it.

^^^^ 1. do it if you want more sound, its not that bad for the car as far as hp loss goes. 2. in no way is this thread "moronic" . 3. this is the most opinionated forum on the face of the earth and theres a ton of opinionated jackasses on here . 4. you make the car payment, do what you want. and 5. for any other questions about the car, i highly suggest going to the s2ki forum, not as many children on there. Good luck with the car.

with both increase of temp. in coolant and intake air temp.? how could you not

power by doing so? it will be a slim number but there's a lost hp there for sure, if

you ask me.

sorry but the thing sounds like every other taiwanese intake with the lid off, i am sure the 16years old next door will be happy to meet the F&F neighbor

ok heres some advice, the heat soak thing is tru, you want a fast easy way to get sound/power ok check it. gut the air box, there is instructions on s2ki and somehwere on these threads just do a search. it doesnt defeat the purpose of the oem air box because companies such as spoon use it. They gut it out, i think this is where the idea originated from. Anyway get the box and buy a spoon snorkel replica off ebay for like 100$ and wait till it comes in the mail. easy install and there is your sound. have a good day and good luck.
