Default 1.5 to si base timing problems

I have a d15b2 bottom end and i swapped the head and manifold to a d16 si. the problem i,m facing is setting the base ignition timing. with the dist, fully advanced i'm @ 14 btdc. spec is 18 btdc. through further research i found that the deck hieght is larger on the d16 bottom end and the timing belt is longer to compensate. the cam gear, crank gear, tensioner, and w/p pulleys are all the same size for both engines. I,m running a pm6 ecm and complete si harness from bumper to bumper. the car starts and idles great, no check engine light. I can't drive the car, so I don't know if it lacks power under load.

has anyone ran into this issue and how did you solve the problem. thanks for any help you can give

sounds like your camshaft timing is way off - Si camshaft timing marks for aligning the camshaft are not the same as on the D15B2

I set the timing marks according to the d15. the marks will not line up if i set it on the d16 mark. This is due to the shortened deck hieght of the d15.
I,ve thought about using an adjustable cam gear and setting the cam and crank where needed then taking the slack out of the belt with the adjustment in the gear. any other suggestions?
