My engine loves RPMS a bit too much....
I took my head off about a month ago and when I first drove it, my RPMs wouldn't go back down past 2500 when I hit WOT, got close to redline (about 1-2k off) and took my foot off the pedal. I started to head home and they fell down again, I did it one more time and they stuck again but a bit lower, I slowed down and put it in 2nd gear (at about 15mph) and they dropped back down... After one more time it never did it again until last night when I was having fun with a friend of mine in an S10, hit about 7500 rpms and they stuck at 2000 when I put the clutch in! Is this anything I should be worried about? Whats going on? Thanks!
hell, if you took your head off there's a thousand things that could have been messed up? did you put it back on with a torque wrench properly, as i with the proper torque and order?
most likely it sounds like an issue with your valvetrain. maybe your cam timing is off and this is causeing this issue, or maybe your cams are slipping. quite frankly there are so many possibilities you either gotta spend a lot time hunting it down, or take it somewhere.
