shaving off side moldings?

what is the best way for me to shave of my side moldings? 2001 gsr.

close off the holes by welding sheet metal then do bodywork on top of it

do it right the first time

get it done by a body shop and then painted. or get ITR door panels. lots of topics on how too shave side mouldings in the archived section. search.
