Default LSVTEC builders, I need your help...

Ok, I've got an 88 CRx Si this engine will be going into...so that's OBD0.

I purchased and engine thinking it was OBD1...turns out I was wrong, it's OBD2 from a 96 Integra.

I purchased a head thinking OBD wouldn't matter. Turns out it's an OBD0 from an 89 DOHC VTEC...which means it's GOT to be imported from Japan.

Can I hook all this up to be OBD1? Or do I need to sell my head and buy an OBD1 head? Or, what do I need in order to make the OBD0 head work on an OBD1 system?

Thanks...

obd0 obd1 obd2 all the senor enter change. the only thing u should need to make the head work for obdo is the obdo distributor and intake manifold and obdo wireharness + vtec subharness + ecu

why do u think minime y8 heads are obd2 they work for obdo w/VAFC or convert to obd1

So you're saying just make the engine an OBD0 setup? I thought OBD1 had some kind of advantage over the OBD0 programming?

Alright, as you're familiar with, the car is OBD0, though. I have the ECU harness to plug obd0 into obd1, but what do I need to look at for the engine bay wiring harness to hook everything up in the bay?

what is the motor going into civic 4dr, hb, crx. and what trim hf, si, dx, ex, ect. and was it pgmfi or dual point. if its a hf or si ur in luck. u should all ways stick with the stock harness never mix and match. if its not pgmfi than u need a harness from rywire. then the obd1 part is just the jumper and distributor i believe my friend has a dx hb with an ls ( but soon to be ls/vtec) thats obd1 he used the stock harness is was sent of to hassport for the pgmfi convertion, and vtec clips and pluged the jumper in and the ecu and he was good to go. the jumper reroutes allthe wires in the harness internal and external so keep stock harness and add vtec wires and clips.

si90rex just gave you all the answers you need. But to really make your LSvtec worth while. Why not buy a type R head?

SI is perfect it the easiest to swap a dohc into it. si throttle cable, clutch cable will work. u'll need a 90-93 integra speedometer cable si wont work. use the stock si engine harness there well be one clip u wont use on the back onthe intake. this will be an easy swap.

That is awesome. Thanks for all of your help. Those steps will be OBD1, though, not OBD0, right? Just makin' sure I'm perfectly straight on the right track...

I chose not use a TypeR head because it's advantages over the Si head are slim. The minor porting and polishing the factory does and different cams are the only differences I believe. Well, and stronger springs. For that, you pay a pretty penny. I'd prefer to use an Si head and just replace the cams and springs with better and more aggressive ones, and get a P&P job from my local machine shop...I know the guy, I've bene there for years, so he hooks me up. With that, I'll have a more aggressive head for about the same price when it's all added up.

yes it well be obd1 ok just put the motor in hook up the si harness and then plug the obdo to obd1 jumper in that make every thing run off obd1 if u run into question about pin out or obdo to obd1 convertions just go to https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1508680
it will help alot i think the only thing thats hard is repining the distributor so it will plug into a obdo harness but it will still be obd1. look at the link there tons of stuff there on everything u can think of. just pm me if u run into problems
good luck
