I believe it is a "smart" system.
I know it works relative to your throttle position. And it knows when the bottle pressure reaches xx psi it will not engage.

Here's the complete info on the ZEX dry nitrous system for 4 and 6 cylinder engines.
A complete "Dry" nitrous system. Everything is included for a safe, proper installation.
• Designed to work safely on both stock and high-performance, normally aspirated engines. The ideal nitrous system for many fuel injected performance vehicles.
• All major components are factory pre-assembled inside the "Nitrous Management Unit". Easy, plug and play, two-hour installation.
• ZEX Nitrous Systems have an advanced, patented feature called "Active Fuel Control". This feature monitors nitrous bottle pressure and adds or subtracts enrichment fuel. The engine never runs too rich or too lean when engaging the nitrous system.
• ZEX "Dry" nitrous systems activate at wide-open throttle, using advanced electronics that monitor your engine's throttle position sensor. This makes using your nitrous system very easy and reliable.

I had this on my Civic. It was awesome....... It's quite the rush. I did blow my engine, but there is a good reason, and I don't blame the kit, as I threw a rod, which just indicated that I was making too much power on a stock bottom end.
My advice, subscribe to AAA, because you just never can tell.....

you would be correct... but he's using a dry shot.... i don't believe zex offers a wet setup....
as far as i know zex only offers dry setups plugged into your intake tube.... (but i could be wrong, they might have finally evolved and are now offering wet setups?)

Yep, they now offer Wet kits. I'd link up the kit on their site, but there isn't a direct link (just stays at http://www.zex.com).

A complete "Wet" nitrous system. Everything is included for a safe, proper installation.
ZEX "Wet" nitrous systems activate at wide-open throttle using advanced electronics that monitor your engine's throttle position sensor. This makes using your nitrous system very easy and reliable.
Designed to work safely on stock type engines, but is also engineered to perform flawlessly on highly modified turbocharged and supercharged combinations. The ideal nitrous system for any fuel injected vehicle.

so they do have a wet setup now... interesting... it's good for the beginner nitrous guy...
....
but like the starter of this thread said.. he's using the dry setup, which i think is a waste.

I agree.
I would sell the dry and go for the wet or the direct port if you can afford it.

if you do it properly you can spray as much as you want....
a buddy of mine had over 100k miles on his car and he was spraying 100shot direct port... had no issues at all...

They have had wet setups for a while.
A dry 50 shot will give him more torque than hp more than likely and thats just what the s2k needs imo.
