Default wtf is this rattle?

when i start my car in the morning (cold) it idles at 1700-1800...
when my rpm is thathigh, something starts to rattle...

when my rpm drops like its about to die (sometimes i let go of the clutch too fast)
it rattles...

it sounds like a heat shield...but i took off the headshield to my cat, and my header doesnt have any....

and its stll making that noise...its really annoying...

anyone have a clue where its rattling from?

well considering that there are a number of heat shields on teh car and they are there for a purpose. The one under the shifter is extremely known for coming lose and rattling...Is it more of a high pitch annoying rattle? If so that's the winner.....

maybe its your header. i know my header sits really close to the oil pan and tends to rattle when i do a cold start and stops once i start to drive.

header next to the oil pan very likely... or.. if you still have any stock exhaust piping, like all other hondas it is double-walled. maybe a cracked inner pipe that is vibrating against an outer. good luck finding it.

Just maybe by chance, could it be that your header is rattling against your cat? I had to get my exhaust shortened and they welded it back on a little crooked so the header and cat don't line up perfectly. That made the bolts bend and stretch which caused the header to rattle and sometimes clank against the cat... just throwing one possiblity out there for you.

could be the samething as me. the honey like web inside the cat that filters your exhaust could be broken. so it just bounces around inside and rattles
