Idling problems when hose is connected, & idling problems when it isnt! Help!
Hey guys i just got my car back from the shop. The engine was rebuilt with new pistons and a new head. The engine(B18b1) consists of a 95 LS short block and a 99 b20 head.
Now when i got it back, there was no hose that connects from the head (see picture 1 circled in red) to the intake (see picture 2 circled in red)

So i bought a rubber hose from Home Depot and connected these two parts. My engine started to idle around 2k... WHY?
When the rubber hose is NOT connected, my engine idles below 1k and fluctuates back and forth like it WANTS to die.
Can anyone explain/help me fix this problem???
TIA

sounds like a vacuum leak, or a damaged IACV or FITV, clean those two parts out with carb cleaner
the line you showed in the pictures does not affect idle, it simply recirculates blow by from the head back into the intake manfiold, your car can run perfectly without it
