Default DC5 or srt-4 HELP

okay guys i have a great deal on my hands that i could take but i want to see what you guys think. One of my good friends is trying to trade me for my 05 typeS for his 05 SRT-4. His has 9k and mine 23K. oh yeah he has replaced his tranny twice under warrenty. I think it was because that thing was boosted at 23 psi, or it could be a lemon. I love that turboed neon but i also like my Type S. HELP

keep the type s. the neon depreciates way quicker and it has already had two trannies. sounds fishy...

My friend has one also and we always tease him about how its gonna break... Thing is, axel broke yesterday with 16k miles and no mods. Stick with the reliable car.

Why in gods name would you trade an Acura for a neon? Neons are t3h ubr3 gh3y!!!!11one!11.

The RSX and SRT-4 were nearly tied in performance charts but one of the mags (I believe Motor Trend) gave first place to the RSX because it an Acura, and the other will always be just a Neon.

rsx ftw here. the srt-4 may be faster but its ugly...crappy interior...unreliable...and then you have to deal with the srt-4 fanbois. keep the rsx

well in my opinion.. any car that barely make 210 off a turbo or a supercharger, is a puss car.. no offense or anything but its just my opinion.

what he said is true, but come on, a nice acura for a pos dodge neon? NEvAr!!1 keep the rsx, please just keep the rsx. the rsx has potential to go fast too, and the rsx is most likely going to hold up better than the neon when modded for speed. keep the rsx!!!

The 2005 SRT-4 has some trouble getting into 3rd gear. Its a hit and miss thing. I bought mine in 2004 as a 2005 model year, and I've only had about 3 instances where downshifting to 3rd I got locked out. Backing and going in again or double clutching fixed it though.

23K miles on mine and no (real) problems.

Hopefully after I get rid of this 2.25" stock exhaust I will have about 350-375HP. Right now I would venture to say I have about 260 @ 17 PSI, but the lag is terrible with the <new> bigger turbo on stock exhaust.

With just a 3" exhaust and filter on a stick I dyno'ed at 240HP and 260 ft-lbs of torque.

He probably didn't "break" the tranny, he probably just didn't know what happened and either decided to or was told that he had to replace the whole thing. The transmissions other that the gear shifter, are very durable and "overboosting" on the stock turbo is not going to kill it, unless your just flat disrespectfull to the car.

If you want something that is fast, particularly in a straight line (like a highway beast) they are great cars with great potential both from the get go and with modding. If your afraid of what other poeple are going to think then this is probably not the car for you. And if you really would rather have no rear window (RSX) over a manual rear window (SRT-4) then definently get the RSX.

The overwhelming response from these poeple will be that the RSX is the clear choice. When I bought this car, the RSX in my mind was overrpriced and didn't have the traits I was looking for. And I came from an Integra and a regular Neon does absolutly nothing for me (at all). In fact I shake my head when I see poeple post Neons (especially the old ones) on the other forum.
