Default Antenna Removal

Welp, i can get my hands on a new antenna however i started to take the old one apart today and i cant figure out how to get the freaking thing out. Do i have to remove the whole motor just to replace the stainless steel part of the antenna? Am i making this to difficult on myself?

You need to unscrew the silver part on the outside with a special tool, or carefully with a needle nose plyers. That is a nut that lets the antenna off the body of the car. Most likely the whole unit needs to be replaced.

On a side note, I need one if anybody has one they want to get rid of.

if u use plyers add some tape or use ones with rubber grips. after u get that piece out there is one more nut on the inside of the car trunk. u will have to remove the jack and pull back the trunk carpeting to get to it. then once u unplug the wire connector and antenna signal wire(pulls right out)the whole thing comes out from the inside of the trunk.

if by stainless steel part of the antenna u just mean the little silver ring then all u have to do is unscrew the old one. if by stainless steel part u mean the actual antenna then i think u would need to take the whole thing out

hi guys, new user in UK here, so hello to you all!
I just bought a '93 si today, and am interested in tidying it up a bit. The aerial has been helpfully snapped off by the previous owner takin the car thru a drive thru carwash!!!! Anyway, any links to websites for advice would be VERY helpful! Thanks again!
