Front end shakes when I hit 40mph or more and I a noise???
I'm not the most mechanical person but I'm learning. Normally I have a friend help me but he decided to become a trucker and he's never in town anymore.
I need help diagnosing a problem. I have a 96 Integra LS with just over 200,000 miles on it. I've known the my CV joints have needed to be replaced because I could hear the popping noise when I turn the wheel. Well within the last two weeks when I get to about 40mph and above the entire front end of the car shakes and I hear hear a noise that's almost like a clicking but a lot deeper almost. Is it still just my CV joints?? Someone told me that my entire front axle would need to be replaced. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Your car may be loosing path and shake if balljoints and such are completely gone. Your CV joint might also be disintegrating inside if you said they already clunked for awhile, I would replace them ASAP.
Also, do you have stock wheels or aftermarket?
If aftermarket I suggest you buy the July issue of Honda Tuning Magazine and go to page 78. It has to do with the centerbores. You need hubcentric wheels, alot of Aftermarket wheels miss that point.
Good Luck!

u most likely need new axels your cv boots are done!!!! My ride did that and my driver side axel was shot!!!! U have 200k on your 96 teggy already!!! Dam u must take that thing all over cause I got only like 145k on my 90 teggy!!!
everybody just replaces the axles because its easier than to replace the cv boot/joint. You probably only need to replace the boot/joint, but you might as well do the axles because you can get them for like 175 for both at kragen with a lifetime warrenty
