Loud noise from front end
I recently replaced my front left axel and CV joint and solved my vibration problem. However, now if I put a lot of stress on it (reversing up a driveway) it will make a very loud bang that you can feel inside the car and easily hear outside the car. It makes the loud bang once again when i go forward. It is a heavy metallic bang that i would like to get rid of. Anyone have an idea???
After the second bang, it will not make the noise again until I put a lot of stress in reverse again. There is no effect on the way the car feels on the road, just a loud horrible clang once every two weeks.

did you change the axle out or did you have someone else do it?
if it's the later, you might want to check the halfshaft - see if it's bolted on
