The first ITR was the 1997 model with VIN sequence #2516.
(I believe this might actually be badge #002 however).
It had 2 owners in New York, and had a Severe Accident/Total Loss record.
The last ITR was the 2001 PY model with VIN sequence #3625.
It has had three owners in Puerto Rico.

Uhh, no. I thought Realtime got the first 97. Anyway, 97 was the first year for the ITR here. Not really that special. Plus, I don't think any car museums here care about Japanese cars really. Its possible the very first ITR is in a Honda museum in Japan but Im not for sure.
Maybe one of our fellow ITR people who have visited Japan can give us some insight.
You also have to think that just because the badge number is 1 it might have not been the first ITR produced for that year. There is rumor the badges were just pulled out of a pile of badges and slapped on. I don't think anybody really knows for sure.

Yeah, buy the armrest and blank plaque from the dealer. Trophy shop would be my first choice, maybe jewelry shop. Try to get a large closeup picture of a real plaque so the engraver can match the font. Good luck!

No offense, but what he says is true. If no one has the original badge, nothing can be proved.
