yea, its stupid but it is still a big fine if the cop is a dick

whenever my friends or I get pulled over the police get on the ground and look for them, its quite funny

I think when I put my testpipe in, I had to of gotten atleast 40-50hp ..
But my car also makes funny *pshh* sounds too now

did you get busted recently for not having a cat?

if you did I would go to court and fight it because you are not going to lose anything by trying to fight it

I would replace it with a stock cat asap and see if you can get away with saying the cop screwed up

 

I haven't got busted yet.... My car has a prelude motor in it (JDM ) And a loud *** muffler Straight pipe all the way back

 

better throttle response.

holy **** i live in so-cal ok guys my cat is going back on this weekend. omg $5000 only way i can get that fine money is if i sell my car... what are chances getting caught with no cat with stock exhaust? i have stock exhaust and headers i just put on a testpipe and it doesnt make a ricer sound it just gave me better throttle response....chances?

 

Anyone want to buy a teg with a prelude swap? It comes with volks too, no cat though

yea, you can use a hollow cat and they will ben none the wiser haha but it might sounds like crap, you can get creative and cut a cat and put it on the straight pipe or something like that

I wonder how many domestic cars get pulled over for loud exhaust

chances are probably low, but if you get fucked for it you will get fucked good, not worth it IMO

just buy a extra cat for $50 and gut the inside out and it will have a ricer buzz sound. but i also heard cops carry snakes and shove it in your exhaust to feel the net fence thing inside the cat.

why not just weld some heat shields on the testpipe?

because they shove in a snake through your exhaust to feel if the "fencing inside the cat" is there..usually you punch a 1 inch hole through the cat because the snake isnt small enough to fit through.

Why not buy a quality high-flow cat, and remain legal while retaining almost all of the performance benefits of a test-pipe? The moderate cost of the cat is certainly better than a hefty federal fine.

Or you can live somewhere like TN where they don't emission laws and you are free to do whatever you please. I don't get fucked with for exhaust, suspension, anything. Okay well speeding, but I always get pulled over by cool *** cops, that give me a warning. Anyway, Cali has to many dumb *** laws. And the reason why domestics don't really get fucked with out there is because alot of them were made before emission laws therefore they don't have to have a cat, O2 sensors, or anything else. You can't hold someone responsible for something they have no control over.
