Ideas on how to make magnetic numbers for autox?
I'm looking to save some money and the kits out there are priced really high. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to make my own number and letter set? Thanks.
Go to Home Depot and buy the magnetic sheets that you use to cover up an AC vent in your house. They will be in the area with other heating/cooling stuff. They are white and about 6" x 12"
You can either cut them in the shape of the number, or you can apply a sicker/decal to them and keep them whole.

I went to a place that specializes in commercial signs. They have magnetic rolls. i bought 4sq feet and just cut out my numbers.
I also cut out strips 1" wide by 4" long, with 45degree angles on each end. The ends sort of look like the greater than and less than symbols on your keyboard.
Make about 30+ of these and you can have any number you want.

Tell him that Todd sent you. You'll get good looking graphics, font of your choice, 3M outdoor vinyl on .30mil mag material, delivered to your door for a price cheaper than $65.
Homemade graphics look exactly like homemade graphics (bubbles, standard "mailbox" font from the letters at Homedepot, etc). Spend a few dollars more and get it done professionally.

Just curious.
I am just finishing up making my magnets as we speak.
Went to a local art supply store. Also there is a custom sign place that would have done this as well.
They have rolls of magnetic sheet. 2' x whatever length you want. $5/2X1 foot square. Also have a vinyl sticker cutter. Cost less than $2 per 6" letter or number. Several colors and fonts to choose from. All told should be less than $20 for four numbers and four letters.

Is this on magnets or not Todd? It sounds like you mean just vinyl.

He's on vacation until early next week, so if you email him, he will respond as soon as he gets back. He's done several types of mag material numberboards for me, so he knows exactly how to do it.
I've tried OfficeMax magnets, and also some magnets from Michaels Craft store. Michaels was thicker but when running on the course, I remember they still fly off. I think getting thicker magnet is the key
