Hows it going? Im a little pissed off right now due to my dyno runs which are much lower than I had expected. I do not know what the problem is, but here is my setup and tuning:

my ignition timing is at 12, he said when he set to 17 or 18 it would knock too much

every run i hade was withing a hp or so, heres the 3 runs:
1st: 170.7/127.9
2nd: 168.0/126.1
3rd: 169.1/126.6

also, he said my map sensor was bad and replaced it but it made no difference. This guy also said that stock itrs make 165 crank and another itr was coming in later with toda cs that makes 202 at the wheels with 350 runs on it.......i still have a check engine light code 3, had it before, still have it now

 

No adjustable cams gears? That would help a lot towards tuning.

Plus, I would make sure everything else is set up right.

 

a little background, evidently the previous owner 'detuned' the car to keep casey (typeRforwhenIB18) safe or some horseshit. rumor has it the guy dyno'd somewhere in VA and hit 200+whp.

Did you tune the V-AFC on the dyno with a wideband O2 sensor? I ask cause those VAFC setting seem to be pumping in a lot of fuel...most people if anything seem to try to put LESS fuel in the 7K and up area. But maybe your mugen ECU makes your situation different???

 

it was tuned with an 02 sensor...i have no idea on the mugen ecu, ive heard a lot of bad things about it but ep runs one in his car and he makes 208/146

 

advance the timing. 12 is way too low. i was running 12:1 compression before with 17 degrees timing. get some cam gears too, because this is where the hp will come from

 

also why are you running jun springs ?? do you plan to upgrade to jun cams later ??

 

they were installed by previous owner as a precaution seeing the mugen ecu raises the rev limit to 9100, but jun3s are a possibility in the future if i get rid of the ecu

cam gears will definitely help. They'll give ya a bunch in the midrange maybe a few up top. You need to look at your air fuel ratio. What do your spark plugs look like? When all tuned in you should putting down 190/131 somewhere around there, with a nice midrange. Try putting your timing at 15. 17/18 might be too much for the compression you have. The potential power is there. On my car I was pulling a map sensor code and it wasn't the map sensor. It turned out to be the wiring on the vafc , you may want to check into that. In my case the wires came uncrimped.

Can't recommend anything, i don't know anything about fine-tuning honda motors!

 

your vtec is coming on too low, look how the lobe jsut bogs, increase taht at least by another 200rpms. your airfule is wack, it looks like you have some kind of problem up high. id increase the timing till you hear it start to knock, tehn back it off.

you do know that with that CEL puts your car in limp mode. Its making it extra rich. your engine is probably drowning. I don't see where your graph is posted to look at.

 

i was under the impression CELs did not put a limp mode...

Some do, and some don't.

 

it was a code 3 btw, just got it turned off, by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes uggh, he wouldnt listen to me at the dyno when i said to do it, he just disconnected some wire that turned off my radio and clock for 30 seconds

 

so basically, i need to:

get my fpr on(will be here monday)
get some cam gears(jdmhp look best for money so far)
get some bigger injectors(maybe)

get a real tuner(coughcoughjackcoughcough )
