why gsr main studs?

why gsr main studs?
im building a ls vtec right now with a b18a block crank and shotpeened rods, but im wondering why you have to use the 99$ gsr arp mains instead of the 77$ls arp mains, im running as ls bottom end -pistons and gsr pumps?
