There is absolutely nothing wrong with turboing a single cam, its just no gonna happen to the extent that he is going for with that amount of money, and for what hes gonna pay to put a ls motor in his car, he won't have enough left to put a decent turbo kit on

I seriously doubt you will get a motor setup to hold 20psi for $2500.
You won't build a kit to hold 20 psi for $1100 either.
Your power goal is exceeding your $$ amount.
There is nothing wrong with the D series, you just have your $$ and goals out of order.
I see you are in TN, if your needing some work done and want to bring it to AL, then I can boost it for you.

true, but i still dont see the point of a turbo single cam with the much boost. i saw everything of an ls swap at a junk yard everything being motor tranny ecu axels wire harness and motor mounts for $1100. it just seems like youd get more bang for your buck that way.

Spend ur $$ the right way. You said u had an EF. so either turbo the stock a6, or get a z6. The Y7 isnt the best for turbo'ing, there have been some people with good #'s but its just not as good as an a6/z6. as for your 2200, spend it on a GOOD turbo kit, FMIC, engine management and TUNING.
You wont be close to 300hp, but if its tuning WELL u can easily push 200whp from your d16 on stock internals at a low 7-8-9 ish psi. trust me 200whp will throw u back pretty well.
Id also get a clutch, maybe rebuild your engine.
