Default y8 head swap

I am bout to put a y8 head on my a6 bottom for vtec.
Is there any timing tricks i should be aware of?
Is a buddy club vtec controller good enought to use to run vtec? (How hard to install)
Is ther any benifits of using the y8 intake manifold on the a6 bottom?(wihtout switching to obd1) (y8s are obd1 correct)
Please any info wold be great.

Remove the oil jet, shouldnt be any timing problems with a d16 block and d16 head.

The intake on the y8 is better than the a6 one. Do a search, you will find some good info.
