Are the motors pretty up to the task of spirited driving? Obviously they race these I've seen that, but I haven't read differences in motors and design between models of other countries vs the US edition...109hp would have to take a beating a few times a day/week from me around town just in general....Also at 65 mph what RPM are you guys at in the 5 speed? trips matter to me as well as I live on a highway.

As spirited as 109hp gets. It is fun and that's what matters to me.

I can't recall at 65, but I do remember that at 80mph in 5th gear I am at ~3950 rpm.

On my last tank I got 39.1 mpg. My overall average since I got my Fit is 35 mpg. I've got 2300 miles on it. Sport 5spd. I do the majority of my driving on the freeway. I'd say on average I do 25% city 75% freeway
man i hate my gas but its cuz im on the pedel all the time last take i only got 152miles for the whole tank, i got to learn how to drive with out speeding befor i end up with more tickets. and i have about 3500miles on it.
as luck would have it I had to go to Columbus again today... I got 40.2 mpg today, ran the AC a little, had the windows down some, doing speed limit mostly as I was on the clock and I'm happy to just burn my day on the road rather than race back to the office
This was fill #8, I have 2583 miles on it, I got 350.9 miles on the trip meter and it only took 8.719 gal to fill it. My average since taking it home is now up to 35.55 mpg, average cost per mile is .08
a little persepctive I trade in my 05 Hyundai Tucson 4x4 SUV that got 21 mpg on a good day. My total fuel cost with my Fit to date is $173.59 to drive 2263.6 miles. To travel the same distance in my Hyundai would have cost me $294.26 that's a $120.67 savings in less than 1 month. My data goes from my first fill on June 20th to today July 13th.
Man I love this car.

Mine only gets about 30 mpg
. It's really hot and I keep the air on most of the time. I have an auto and most (about 90%) of my driving is on the freeway. I have about 1500 miles.

To get great gas mileage takes conservative driving. No redline accelerations, and depending on conditions and the specific vehicle when comparing AC vs windows down, having the windows rolled down on some models can actually produce worse gas mileage than running the AC. I saw a thread where a guy did the comparrision claiming to have driven very conservativly on both tanks and produced worse gas mileage on an audi a6 with the windows down compared to using the ac
Just dropping in to note that I almost hit the 40 mpg mark today. I filled up this morning and calculated my last tank to 39.29 MPG.

I hope it gets better! 50/50 highway driving, taking it very easy, not redline driving at all.
