Default VTECH head

i have a 2000 civic ex. 1.6l sohc. what do i have to do to put a vtech head on it? and how hard would it be? and how much of a difference would it make?

First off it's VTEC. Secondly the 00 civic ex comes with a single cam VTEC head that is unless you're in Canada and the ex is the same as the US version of the lx.

the 96-00 ex's dont say "vtec" on the valve covers (onyl the 92-95 ex heads/ d16z6 valve covers)

lol em1 is right.. they dont say vtec but they still are vtec.. if you search on here.. and maybe type in like engine codes or something.. u can find the engine that your car has.

If it's a stock USDM 96-00 ex valve cover it will just say HONDA.

# 10 is your vtec solenoid.

I dont think any honda engines come with VTECH

Assuming you have a civic from the states and it hasnt been swapped or modified, you already have a VTEC equipped car.

Its spelled VTEC by the way, people on here get up in arms if you spell it any other way.

Check the engine code by looking at the block. Just about dead center on the engine its a silver box with numbers and letters engraved. Report back to us with what it says.
