Default Honda Heat Gasket!!??

I was a firm believer that this was a great product, I have one on my other prelude and it runs extremely cool. I was talking to a guy at InlinePro in sprinfield va which is a awesome high knowledge honda tuning shop and they say these gaskets are trash and melt into the intake manifold, I never heard this before, he said they don't even sell them anymore, and there a hondata dealer that push hondata products. Anybody know anything about this??? Mine seems to work great.

look at what your title says....honda heat gasket. i take it you mean the hondata intake manifold gasket from the context of your post. many people use it here with no problems.

they work great to keep intake temps down, but are useless if your keeping your iac and fast idle valves because the coolant that runs through them brings the heat into the manifold anyway bypassing the gasket. but they are great for race applications, especially so you dont have to go through the trouble of scrapping off the paper gasket everytime you pull the manifold off the head.
