Default Which Pager alarm system?

I wanted a Pager alarm system and decided between these two:

Prestige APS plantinum 997 (made by audiovox-Jensen)

http://www.audiovox.com/webapp...Id=-1

or

DEI Hornet 564T

http://www.directed.com/securi...y.asp

Both are about the same price and same features. Which one would be the better systeM?

Both are good alarms, the audiovox would be a little bit cheaper on your wallet. And still give you perfect security. Make sure you add a back-up battery to your alarm system and make sure the install is up to par. Not just throwned under the dash, Your alarm is only good as the install. Make sure you add a couple of kill switches to the mix. Plus the club and the footlock. The more the better.

Anyone know why the DEI HORNET are cheaper compare to the other DEI brands? I compared feature and components and it looks identical except for the remotes...

The hornet and valet does not have the range of the clifford and viper. They are ment to be a entry level alarm that does not bust the budget. Good for people that don't have the monry to drop down on a viper, But can still have a good quality alarm system.

And the remotes for the hornet alarms are not as good looking as the viper or clifford. The look of the remote is important to some people, I know it is for me.

Anyone know the DISTANCE on the DEI HORNETT 554 Pager alarm? The
Audiox 997 alarm list the distance as up to a 1/4 miles but I can't find anything on the Hornet alarm.

Its hard to say about range, too many factors. But the viper and clifford 2-ways will allways have better range then the valet and the hornet. The hornet and valet give you more features to compensate for lack of range-ie- clock, parking timer, alarm clock and such. Viper and clifford does not have that. unless you want to step up to the 900x2 clifford.
