Default Please Identify the cause of this sound

Hey everyone. I have a '92 integra RS. A few days ago I had my exhaust put on and ever since then I have this terrible Vibrating/Rattling noise , It sounds like it's coming from directly under the front passenger seat or around that area. These are the situations when I hear the noise: If I rev the engine to around 5k when the tach begins to drop It can be heard, When I downshift and the RPMs become low around 2-3k,when i'm upshifting and just when I disengage the clutch, And if I'm just cruising in any gear and I let off the gas , But when apply a little pressure to the throttle the noise goes away. So if anyone has any idea what's going on I would appreciate your help. Thanks a loit.

Probably your new exhaust hitting a loose heatshield. Bring it back to whoever installed it and they should fix it up for you for free.

My friend has the exact same problemo that it sound like you do(98 gs-r)!! a nice sweet rattling sound!!! what his problem is is that either the bricks in his cat are loose or the weld on the cat is broke. It might be fixable, w/o taking off the cat, considering that the bricks aren't messed up. if his bricks are messed up he has to get it re-welded, or he might even need a new cat. if i were you i would look into this, and if that doesnt fix your problem i dont know what else it could be.

everyone who said heat shield was correct, we put this rubber insulation type stuff between the shield and the pipe... problem solved. So thanks everyone for pointing me in the right direction
