A fun HyperFest video (not in-car)
This was the first year we attended HyperFest at Summit Point. The event itself was a blast! Here's a video of some things that went on at the event. The car rolling contest was too cool! (33.6 MB)

Hey Zephyr, I stopped by to see you a few times but kept missing you. Yes, I have video of the second start. I'm on my way out the door right now, but I'll post it. What happened? We couldn't quite tell from where we were.

As my wife described it, we saw the tail end of the competition.
It was her first time at a Honda Challenge event.

Since you were there, could you please clear up a seemingly common misperception, that drifting is the fastest way around a track. Any idea what times the drifters and the... ugg, I hate to even use the word... grip drivers got?
And that "reggae" band, I wonder if they've ever heard any...

Unfortunately I do not have much more HC video, other than the second start from Sat. which I'll post.
Some of the people drifting was pretty amazing. I have to admit, I'm not a huge fan of drifting but some of these guys are extremely talanted. I was pretty surprised at the speed some of the cars carried through the higher speed turns while drifting. I never even thought about timing them - the would have been pretty interesting! Of course they were slower than if "properly driving the race line", but were still pretty quick. A few friends and I joked that if we're leading the pack, maybe that's the best way through the turns. We figured if the car is sideways, there's no way they'd get by. Does that constitute drift blocking?

Yes, some of it really was amazing. It's funny how we love to make fun of people whose talents we could not ourselves emulate.
