New To this World And Clueless.
Hey Guys my Name is Andy and im 18 years Old. Two days ago i just got my S2000. I went From a 04 EVO VIII to a S2000. To be honest I dont really miss my Evo. Yea it Was a Beast, but it always broke down on me. When it comes to s2ks i am a HUGE Noob. I hope i get to learn alot about my Car and fall in love with it even more
.. I have a few Stupid Q but plz Forgive me.
How are S2k Trans? Cuz the Past to Days i Have gotten it I have Been going Hard on it. Launched it a 5500 and 6000. But i just popped the Clutch.
When ever i turn my Car off i hear a Ticking Sound. Is that the car Cooling Down?(sometimes happens when the car is on)
What Mods Can i get that would Bring me to high 200Hp - low 300. On all motor?
Thanks Andy

Welcome to H-T! Congrats on the s2k!
I would say the ticking your asking about is your exhaust expanding and contracking . . Most cars do that.
I would say the only way your going to be able to get close to 300 is going to be ITB's which are unreliable and almost impossible to tune for street use. For that kind of money you could go SC'd. IMO
Got any pics of your car?

The tranny for our car is quite well. The only problem you should be looking at when launching the car soo hard is the rear end. Our car has a really weak rear end that can blow with plenty ease. If you plan on dragging the car, Comptech developed a Reinforced Differential housing that can beef up the OEM diff that can be mashed on and still have extended life to it. That and also, aftermarket diffs.

Thats normal.

A stock AP1 s2000 dynos about 185-200 on average, so reaching 200 whp is quite easy with aftermarket bolt-ons such as an intake/header/exhaust combo. The answer is trying to reach 230whp which is a challenge for many s2k tuners out there N/A.
on the other hand, a stock ap2, dyno pulls about 200-215'ish stock

you are wrong about itb, they are not unreliable, look at it this way, most of the itb are made with bike part, those bastard see over 15k revs on the bike everyday.(again, if you factor in shitty craftsmanship if you cheap out on parts)
again, wrong about tuning, it will run like crap if you use a pos piggy back, stand alone ecm will work perfect in this situation.
but don't expect to juice out alot from the itb alone, they are not known for giving peak gain but useable power band.
stoker kit would be your best bet if you going for N/A.

Thanks Andy
AEM EMS is the first and best mod. people have picked up 15 whp with just the base map.
get the car tuned, and maybe even a nice nitrous kit with the computer, and the car will own.
be careful with the oversteer by the way. the car loves to slide out time to time.

whahahaa..... why do people keep thinking ITB would produce power?
gain on ITB is minimal compare to other N/A mod.
FYI, you can start here.

from what i hear the itb is not unreliable because of quality, but because tuners claim they are very "touchy"to correctly tune...
the s doesnt have a live rear axle like our muscle car friends because honda didnt design it to be beat on from the line...its meant to be reliable on the track...u dont buy a geo prizm and and haul 10,000lb trailers around for construction do u...no...so if ur going to take a car out of its environment without protecting it first expect to have expensive breaks...
super charger is reliable for long term use and is the best way to go for the middle of the road s2k driver wanting more power
turbo kit can give u about 100hp based on how much psi u put through it...over 10 is risky without getting better engine internals
stroker kit apparently is reliable power...inline pro is the source of the build thread and they have a 2 yr warranty on their work thatll put u about 260+hp
aem ems is needed with this much power add
any kind of low restriction intake would work well...the cold air intakes have risk of hydrolocking in rain puddles depending on where u live
if ur boosting ur gonna want a less restrictive exhaust system to match it...single exhaust is the best for most hp and weight savings
a driveshaft upgrade will run you about 3000 because of the custom yokes needed
a rear end and axle upgrade will run in the 4-5k price range
higher performance rims and tires
a vented hood if ur going the boost road
high performance brake pads only...stock brake system works great on the track
then u get into new cams lightweight pulleys and such

I am sorry, I did a little more research and you are correct. They are just as reliable as any other choice
