i belive you can get an exemption from the obd2 diagnostic test if you show a receipt for a few hundred dollars worth of repairs. it's only good for 1 year though. someone please correct me if i'm wrong.
^^ ive heard that too
so what do you itr guys have to do?
go back to stock injectors and stock ecu with both o2 sensors?
doesnt seem like TOO much of a hassle i guess
i thought the whole point(besides the obvious tuning capabilities) of AEM ems was that its street legal

I know that is true in NY. If you show receipt for $500 worth of repairs, you get a sticker for the year.

Because it's not very legal...
Get a 2nd car (same as yours) that's stock. Scan your registration, hook the computer up to the stock car. You'll still need a hook up at the shop its being done at.

called "clean piping" a car... very illegal and shops can get shut down very easily if they are caught.
i've been told in my state there is a means of recording a unique identifier from each obd2 car tested (like a serial # for the ECU or something), and then if that identifier comes up multiple times under different VINs, the state red flags it and will investigate the shop.

To get past this, if you still happen to have your stock ecu, throw it in to the car you plan on having scanned a couple days before you go.
